FirstRAID G2TM Introducing FirstRAID G2TM - standalone RAID 5 redundant backup solutions with autocopy removable media capability for off-site backup storage. Our FirstRAID G2 system directly attaches to your fileserver using a single, industry standard eSATA or USB2.0 connection. You can connect it to any eSATA Host Bus adapter that is multi-drive capable. The eSATA port does not need RAID functionality because our internal "in-line" controllers handles the RAID. Duplicate your backup automatically. FirstRAID's top 4 drives are configured as a RAID 5 array and the 5th bottom drive as a stand-alone drive to backup the RAID 5 array. Use the RAID volume for your nearline back-up with automatic redundant protection. Then automatically or through host software, copy the RAID volume to the bottom volume and remove for off-site disaster recovery and storage. For example, use four 320GB SATA drives to form a fully redundant 960GB RAID 5 array. *Now, install a 1 TB SATA drive in the bottom bay and configure your backup software to do nightly backups to the RAID and also to duplicate that backup to the stand alone drive. Or, let the FirstRAID G2 make the off-site backup copy automatically, as long as the array is the same exact size or smaller than standalone, the G2 can perform this for you by itself without software. The result? Two copies of your critical data, one of which will survive a single drive failure, the other can be pulled out and transported off-site.

• No RAID software. Because of its unique in-line controller, there is no software, drivers or any additional configuration required. Plug the FirstRAID into a multi-drive capable eSATA controller and you're ready to go! Like our other popular High-Rely products, you can use FirstRAID with most backup software so no training is necessary.

• No Administration. Like our other High-Rely products, FirstRAID is directly attached so it inherits the security properties of the server or workstation it is attached to. Unlike NAS units which are their own servers and often require seperate configuration and administration.

• FAST. Redundant RAID 5 backup can write up to 120 Giga Bytes per Hour. Performance will vary depending on many factors within your configuration.

• Flexible. The FirstRAID can also be configured for RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10 using up to 4 removable drives. Also, because the FirstRAID's S-Bay media carrier is compatible with the High-Rely product family, you may use its media interchangably with our other High-Rely products.
