Tandem DXRTM Although the TandemTM is part of the High-Rely family, the Tandem DXR TM was special enough to deserve it's own page. Our 2 Bay rack mount Tandem DXRTM system directly attaches to your fileserver using a single, industry standard eSATA or USB2.0 connection. You can connect it to any eSATA Host Bus adapter that is multi-drive capable. The eSATA port does not need RAID functionality because our internal "in-line" controllers handles the RAID. So, no special software or driver is necessary either making the Tandem DXR completely portable. The Tandem DXR is like having a disk photocopier. One the unit presents to your host as one volume. While your host writes to the volume, the Tandem DXR is busy making sure both drives contain identical data (RAID 1 mirroring). That way, if one drive fails, the unit continues to work without interruption to your host computer. That's really comforting to know but the real benefit is that with the Tandem DXR, you can remove one of the drives for an offsite backup and replace it with another without any interaction or interruption to the host machine! With the switch of a dial, the DXR will quite mirroring and expose both drives to the host as independent volumes or offers other RAID settings as well. • No RAID software. Because of its unique in-line controller, there is no software, drivers or any additional configuration required. Plug the FirstRAID into a multi-drive capable eSATA controller and you're ready to go! Like our other popular High-Rely products, you can use FirstRAID with most backup software so no training is necessary.

• No Administration. Like our other High-Rely products, FirstRAID is directly attached so it inherits the security properties of the server or workstation it is attached to. Unlike NAS units which are their own servers and often require seperate configuration and administration.

• FAST. Redundant RAID 1 backup can write up to 120 Giga Bytes per Hour. Performance will vary depending on many factors within your configuration.

• Flexible. The Tandem DXR can also be configured for RAID 0, JBOD and RAID 1/33 and RAID1/50. Also, because the Tandem DXR's media carriers are compatible with the High-Rely product family, you may use media interchangably with our other High-Rely products.
