1 Bay RAIDFrame

PDF brochure

The 1 Bay RAIDFrame is perfect for small businesses that need redundancy and massive storage. Each RAIDPac supports up to 9TB of data in RAID 0 and 6TB in RAID 5. The RAIDFrame system requires no software, and presents to the host as a single connected drive. The RAID configuration for the RAIDPacs can be changed in hardware.

The 1 Bay RAIDFrame provides a small form-factor redundant backup solution. Each RAIDPac provides diagnostics on the front. For convenience, dead drives can be swapped live from the front. RAIDPacs can also be connected directly to host machines for emergency field recovery.

RAIDFrame 1 BayTM – a fast, large capacity, standalone redundant backup solution with removable RAID 5 media (RAIDPacs).

Our 1 Bay RAIDFrame is the compact and economical answer for smaller offices needing access to our powerful RAIDPac media. The RAIDFrame 1 Bay system directly attaches to your fileserver or workstation using a single, industry standard eSATA or USB cable. No software or special hardware is necessary. All RAID functions are performed by the hardware in our RAIDPac media. The entire RAIDFrame 1 Bay is very portable and uses a standard ATX power supply. We recommend using the eSATA connection for faster backup than can be achieved with typical Network Attached Storage Systems.

The intelligence is all in the RAIDPacTM media: With RAIDFrame’s unique RAIDPac media, your high capacity backups can be as portable as a USB hard drive. A RAID controller is inside each RAIDPac so no software or RAID drivers are necessary to access your the data on another system. With a single click and a pull you can HOT SWAP an entire 3 drive RAID array with it’s controller and carry it away for off-site storage or access elsewhere.

  • Large Removable Storage. Three 3.5″ drives are supported in each RAIDPac yielding 9 TB for a RAID 0 configuration when using 3TB hard drives. In the RAID 5 configuration a RAIDPac stores up to 6TB and protects against a single drive failure. Smaller 3.5″ hard drives are also supported for installations that want redundancy at lower price points.
  • Monitorable We include RAID management and monitoring software to load on your host if you want to keep track of drive health and RAID configurations. The software will even email you on error.
  • No Host RAID Controller. Because of the RAIDPac cartridge’s unique in-stream hardware controller, the host does not need RAID software or drivers. Plug the 1 Bay RAIDFrame system into any compatible eSATA controller port and you’re ready to go. It shows up much like a standard USB drive would. The 1 Bay doesn’t even require a multi-drive aware port, so chances are it will work with your host’s built in eSATA connector.
  • Software Agnostic. Like our other popular High-Rely products, you can use the RAIDFrame system with almost any backup software. This means enterprise features like Active Directory, Exchange, Sharepoint, and other open file technologies can be supported by best of breed software. This makes it possible for those with existing backup software to avoid relearning a new system.
  • File Security. The RAIDFrame system is directly attached so it inherits the security properties of the server or workstation it is attached to. This allows directly copying files while retaining file and folder permissions. This configuration also easily supports the Public Key encryption found in Windows Server and other Operating Systems providing the highest level of data protection.
  • FAST. Redundant RAID 5 backup can write up to *400 GigaBytes per Hour.
  • *We’ve seen over 400GB/Hr using Imaging Software in the lab. Performance will vary depending on many factors within your configuration.
  • Flexible. Use RAID 5 for redundant protection or RAID 0 for more capacity and speed. RAIDPacs also use most standard 3.5″ SATA hard drives. This gives you the ability to expand or replace drives as needed.
  • Disaster Proof. Even if your entire RAIDFrame system is destroyed, each RAIDPac cartridge’s data can be accessed by any computer. The back of the RAIDPac has an industry standard power connection, a USB 3 port, and a SATA port.
  • Compact Cartridge. RAIDpacs measure only 9.25″ X 6″ X 3.25″ (including handle) and weigh only 5 to 9 lbs each depending on the drive types they’re equipped with.

The RAIDFrame systems are the ultimate power house of Data Backup. With their tremendous capacity, speed and portability, nothing will stop you from retrieving your valuable data fast.
