RNAS 300U and 300C Windows IoT based Network Attached Storage

Fast and Cost Effective. Up to 36TB of Storage.

Reasons to use the RNAS-U, or RNAS-C Rapid Recovery Platform:

RNAS-U Model: Windows NAS with Two Utility Bays allow rapid access to raw hard drives from the front.

.
  • Windows OS. We are the only NAS purpose built for backup that uses Windows IOT Enterprise operating system.  this OS uses the same code base as Server 2016 and Windows 10, allowing your Windows software to run seamlessly.
  • Redundancy. High-Sync software is included to replicate data from the primary to secondary drive in the background, insuring you can create at least two copies of backup data, without involving your third party backup software.
  • Restore Quickly. Restoring directly from the RNAS is fast and easy, but if additional speed is needed, simply move the raw drive into any USB 3, or thunderbolt enclosure directly attached to the target machine. Gaining higher speed access to the hard drive inside your NAS has never been this easy.
  • 28 Clouds supported – No Monthly Fees. Our High-Sync software allows you to upload data to twenty-eight different protocols and clouds. Additionally, it allows you to pull data down from multiple cloud sources, and accounts, to consolidate all corporate data on the RNAS, without paying per user/per month fees.

Remove – Restore – Recover

High-Rely RNAS-C models have daily swappable removable drives.

The RNAS series comes in a variety of processor and memory configurations that allow it to work in small offices, or to be configured to host a virtual environment, as a Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) unit. Each system has two integrated utility drive bays (for raw hard drives), or High-Rely classic bays (fully enclosed drives for daily swap), which makes creating and transporting extra copies of the data volume fast, and easy. The RNAS appliance is a Windows-based system that focuses on three main principles: removable data, recovery, and restores. These principles, coupled with our High-Sync software, is perfect for small office environments and data management. Each RNAS backup system features replication from primary to secondary drives, other network shared volumes, as well as twenty-eight other protocols and public cloud options.

Operating Systems: Windows IOT Enterprise. IOT is base code used in Windows 2016 server and Windows 10. *Note: version of OS is matched to CPU speed, it does not impact the OS feature set.
Connections: 20 Simultaneous SMB connections. *Note: Upgrade to Windows Storage Server 2016 if more are needed – No limit on number of simultaneous replication jobs.

RNAS Use Case scenarios:

Two bay RNAS, with removable Hard Drives.

  1. As a Windows NAS use it with any backup software to create a Local-to-Local-to-Cloud configuration. You can also create a Backup and Disaster (BDR) appliance.
  2. Use as a cloud enabled NAS that will automatically load all local files to more than 28 different cloud providers. (Self-backing NAS.)
  3. Use as a Cloud-to-Local backup (reverse cloud) appliance, which automatically consolidates and protects cloud files from multiple users, as well as cloud providers, in one place. There are many good reasons to do reverse cloud backups.
  4. Use as a Cloud-to-Cloud (C2C) appliance, automatically making copies of data in one cloud to others, thus protecting the files with a single management interface.
  5. With RNAS-C models, use removable drives as physical media, (Local-to-Local) for those who do not have bandwidth to use the cloud, or prefer local storage. Replaces tape as physical storage.
  6. As a NAS with Site to Site (Box to Box) replication supported by using routers with VPN tunnel between sites or by hosting SFTP Server on receiving side.

RNAS Customers:

Many public cloud replication options available.

  • Would like a Network Attached Storage (NAS), but need enterprise class hardware, and the ability to carry data off-site as needed (RNAS C models). They may want to supplement off-site cloud backup, can only afford to off-site part of the data set, or simply do not trust data off-site.
  • Want built in replication. Drive to drive incremental replication allows making transparent copies of data volumes without involving external backup software. Volumes can be air-gaped (removed) for security, or transport offsite.
  • Need faster backup and restore than what occurs over slow Internet connections.
  • Want enough speed to do FULL backups, in case incremental does not work when needed.
  • May need to restore virtual environments from bare metal, which is hard or impossible to do with USB and eSATA, since the stripped down hypervisor O.S. may not provide driver support.
  • Want a Windows-based backup appliance or BDR solution.
  • Do not have the budget for expensive NAS/SAN solutions and want to minimize per user or monthly fees.
  • Want manageable security with the option to join the appliance to a Windows domain.
  • Dynamic Support Contracts. We are backup experts and will help you configure, and maintain, your backup device. Support is available during business hours: Pacific Standard Time.
  • Our customers like the idea of a U.S. company, good customer service, along with the ability to purchase a dynamic support contract for telephone tech support and a three year advance replace warranty.

Features Include:

Trays key(s) locks the drive in place.

Lockable drive trays.

  • Integrated Utility Drive BayTray-less drive bay(s) makes creating and transporting extra copies of the data volume fast, and easy. Purchase one, or more, utility drives that are the same size. Note: Utility bay uses native SATA connector and is not intended for daily drive swaps.
  • U Models. Utility Bays. Raw drives. Can be occasionally swapped, or upgraded, as needed. Two lockable front mounted tray-less utility bays can accommodate SATA hard drives, with access to the raw drive in seconds, with up to 36TB of storage.
  • C Models. High-Rely Classic Drive trays. If daily swap of physical media is needed, choose the RNAS-C models that fully enclose and protect drives in aluminum trays. Unlike the Utility models that use the SATA connector on the back of the drive itself, the connector on these High-Rely Classic trays allows thousands of plug/unplug cycles.
  • SSD Boot. Our Windows boot drive is a front mounted SSD, leading to great backup appliance performance and the ability to swap the OS drive, in the event of a problem.
  • Reliable Hardware. Business-grade NAS, with U.S. warranty and telephone support available. Purchase Dynamic Support to receive advanced replacement and shipping.
  • More Storage. If you prefer to double the total storage, use either one of the utility bays to expand total space.
  • Reseller Focus. No web-published prices below MSRP. Sold through resellers. Local IT professionals can craft a backup solution for their end users without fear of client finding discounted prices online.
  • Fast BootWindows OS is loaded on an industrial grade SSD module, making for rapid boot times, and outstanding Windows performance .
  • Large Storage CapacityQuantity 2 data bays hold 1TB to 18TB  drives
  • 20 Device Connections. Windows IOT Supports 20 network connections, and no limit on number of Sync jobs. Connection limit does not apply when hosting a virtual machine with a server OS. If more than 20 simultaneous users are desired, please upgrade to Windows Storage Server 2016 Workgroup, or Standard edition. (See price sheet.)
  • BDR (Virtualization) supportThe 300 and 400 models include Hyper-V licenses for spinning up a virtual machine. This allows emergency server capability.
  • Block Level Incremental Upload.  Intended to save time when large files are changed and re-uploaded, High-Sync supports uploading the changed blocks of files. The feature works when uploading between local & network drives, over a VPN or when using the SSH/SFTP protocol.  Incremental uploads to other clouds can also be achieved by using .zip files (synthetic backup).
  • Cloud Storage. Use your backup software to upload to your preferred BDR cloud, or choose our integrated High-Sync, which supports many popular public cloud options.
  • Bandwidth Throttling.  Limit your cloud upload and download jobs so they don’t use all available Internet bandwidth. You can even limit on a per replication job basis or schedule the times where full speed access is allowed.
  • File & Folder Backup IncludedIf you prefer not to buy backup software, use the included High-Sync utility to regularly pull files and folders from any shared drive on your network. Purchase additional Windows, Mac, or Linux licenses to create “push” file sync jobs from servers, or workstations, to the RNAS.
  • Simple Bare Metal Virtual Machine Restore. Having a RNAS unit provides backup storage that can be accessed using Windows Networking, NFS networking, or iSCSI. Hypervisor environments that will not easily recognize USB or eSATA quickly attach via Gigabit Ethernet.
  • High Capacity. Currently up to 16TB of raw storage per drive (higher if compressed).
  • Free iSCSI and Drive Management Software Available. Our software assists you in safely removing network attached drives, as well as making sure that drive letters stay consistent so that backup jobs run reliably.
  • Monitoring. Managed and monitored backup service via your RMM tool, or ours, is available.
